He was predeceased by: his parents, John Buchenauer and Elizabeth Buchenauer (Hoffman); his brothers-in-law, Irvin, Alfred Kurtz, Ernst Wilderman, Rudy Held and Eric Held; and also Lynn Held (Wallace).

He is survived by: his wife Olga (Held); his children, Ron, Gina Buchenauer (Bing), Rob, Carmen Buchenauer (Alexy), Perry and Belinda Buchenauer (Petzke); his grandchildren, Cody (Andrea), Jesse (Brittany), Ben (Renee), Emily (Sam), Amanda (Adam) and Liam (Maddie); his great grandchildren, Deacon, Vanna and Jacob; his siblings, Helmut Buchenauer (Ingrid) and Elizabeth Buchenauer; his siblings-in-law, Ella Kurtz, Freida Wilderman and Richard Held; and his family Kitchener. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Innisfree House Hospice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
