He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Hintz and Mathilde Hintz; his sister Ella; and his son Werner. He is survived by: his siblings, Albert, Alice and Edmund; his wife Elfriede Scherbinsky; and his children, Gerhard (Holly), Meritta (Wolfgang), Jenette (Larry), Siglinde (Roy), Harold (Helga), Hugo (Anick), Sylvia (Rogerio) and Richard (Anita). He is also survived by 28 grandchildren (2 predeceased) and 29 great grand children.
