He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Gisela; his children, Michael (Lynda), Heiko and Kimberly Abshoff (Vaibhav); his grandchildren, Jeffery (Rebecca), Kyle (Rhiannon), Rebecca (Chris), Evan, Ronin and Kiran; and his great grandchildren, Stella, Claire, Carter, Owen, Natalie and Lennox. He was also cherished by his extended family and friends.
