She was predeceased by: her husband Werner Borch; her parents, Eduard Block and Johanna Block (Gross); and her siblings, Margarethe, Anneliese, Walter, Heinz, Horst and Erich.

She is survived by: her siblings, Hannelore Hadler (Herbert) and Siegfried Block (Pat) of Kitchener; her sons, Klaus Borch (Dianne) and Hans Borch (Katharine); her grandchildren, Anna Winter (Kevin), Matthew Borch (Katie), David Borch (Katelyn), Nadine Borch (Philip) and Jason Borch; and her great grandchildren, Corson, Pyper Winter, Scarlett Borch, Joseph, Derek Borch and Kasper Borch. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Renison University College.

“I am really sorry to hear of Erna’s passing but feel so blessed to have known her almost my entire life. She was a beautiful lady, always at the ready with Haribo gummy bears and chocolate and a hug/kiss. I can just picture Mr.Borch greeting her with open arms and a kiss. They were the biggest lovebirds and a great example to me how to live life to the fullest. Sending you all a big hug from Vancouver. She will be missed!”
