He was predeceased by: his parents, Amy Reist and Lanson Reist; his sister Elaine Srigley; his former wife Mary Margaret Baer; his brother Ken (Mary Beth); and also Glenn.
He is survived by: his cousin Lester Reist; his children, Judy Chapman, Dawna Gilmore (Ross), Margy Hunking (Lowell), David (Melinda) and Canberra; his stepchildren, Kevin Thompson, London, Dr. Brent Thompson (Katie) and Ryan Thompson (Cleo) of Victoria, B. C.; and also, Elizabeth (Elwyn), Ohio and Heather Maine (Linden).
Due to Elmer's years of coping with his eyesight, donations to the new Savvas Chamberlain Regional Eye Program - c/o St. Mary's Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
