She was predeceased by: her spouse Charlie MacDonald; her siblings, Dave Gillis, Joe Gillis (Patricia), Peter Gillis (Rebecca), Blaise Gillis (Rose) and Paul Gillis (Kim); her daughter Aileen; her parents, Paddy Gillis and Eileen Gillis; her siblings, Stephen Gillis, Claire Wall and Alan Gillis; and her parents-in-law, Duncan and Katherine MacDonald.
She is survived by: her children, Wendy MacDonald, Cindy MacDonald and Missi O'Shaughnessy (James); her grandchildren, Victoria Warwick (Kurtis), Jack O'Shaughnessy, Owen O'Shaughnessy, John Hearn and Lily O'Shaughnessy; her great grandchild Claire Warwick; her sisters, June Cashen (Don), Anne Marie McCarthy (Francis), Margie Gillis and Barbara MacDonald (Becky); and her friends, Earla Recoskie and Deanna Casey.
Masks must be worn and social distancing observed.
Family flowers only will be accepted, in lieu of flowers, donations to Innisfree House or the Cape Breton University Alumni Scholarship Fund would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
