He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schaffer and Joan Braniff; and his foster brother Peter Davidson. He is survived by: his wife Frances Schaffer; his children, Katherine Makela (Jason), Teresa LeConte (Rich), David Schaffer, Rebecca Phylactou (Steve) and Jamie Schaffer (Darlene); his siblings, Ken Schaffer (Lola), Gerry Schaffer (Draupadi), Bonnie Tancredi (Frank), Lori Mara, Stephen Schaffer (Chiharu) and Christine Brohman (Bob); and his stepmother Joan Schaffer.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home Ltd. (507 Frederick St, Kitchener, ON N2B2A5).
