He was predeceased by: his parents, Émile and Menciel; his siblings, Suzanne, Marie, Clarina, Lorne Aitchison and Louis; his siblings-in-law, Christine, Yvon Gélinas, Camile Bellemare and Denis Mailloux; and his godson Michael Brazeau.
He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Mark (Renée) and Jocelyn Dewar (Ivan); his grandchildren, Megan (Rick), Jade (Mark), Melissa (Chino), Brandon (Nicole) and Morgan (Michelle); his great grandchildren, Clark, Pierce and Isla; and his siblings, André, Archilles (Heather), Laurent (Glenna), Roger (Simone), Denise Bellemare (Roland), Sylvianne Gélinas, Liette Desrochers (Simon), Joanne and Carole (Jeannot). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
