He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael J Whelan Sr. and Hanorah (Finnerty); and his brothers, Howard (Joan), Dave (Yvonne), Moe (Colleen), Jack (Kay) and Michael Jr. Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Eric (Darleen), Shannon, Lee (Manon) and Corlea (Rino Viskovich); his grandchildren, Zeb, Bronti and Fynnerty Viskovich; his sister Helena (Jim Purdon); and his siblings-in-law, Sandy, Earl Peters (Connie), George Peters (Marjorie), Delbert Peters (Vivian), Fred Peters, Richard Peters (Veronica), Arnold Peters (Judy), Gerald Peters, Evelyn (Dennis Landon), Doris and Christine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
