He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Carrière and Delina Dusome; his wife Barbara Legault; his son Paul; his grandchild Esa; and his siblings, Martial, Omer, Florence and Delina.

He is survived by: his children, Gail (Rock Lapointe) of Orleans, Steven (Denise) of Kapuskasing, Glen (Diane), Gary (Cindy) of Elliot Lake, Michael (Sandy) of Kirkland Lake and Robert (Janet) of Mississauga; his grandchildren, Angèle, Philippe, Eric, Tyler, Rachel, Jason, Crystal, Jessica, Tiffany, Abdullah, Muhammad, Luqman, Hadiyah, Ryan, Darcy, Jennifer and Jacob; and his friend Elsie Walters. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kirkland & District Hospital made in Marcel's memory would be greatly appreciated.
