Diane (Gauthier) Frade Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Frade (nee Gauthier) on April 30, 2020 at the age of 60 years after a long, hard-fought battle with Cancer.
Diane spent her final days in this world doing what came naturally to her, comforting others. She sat with those closest to her while recounting the many lessons her life had afforded her, talked about her hopes for those who remain, and found peace on her terms. In her final moments, our angel Diane made her journey to heaven while surround by her soulmate Joe, and her two loving daughters who meant the world to her.
Diane was born on December 27th, 1959 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario to Armand and Bernadette Gauthier (nee Legault). A resident of Kirkland Lake practically all of her life, Diane had many interests, close friends, and cherished experiences with countless friends and loved ones that were blessed to be a part of her life. Above all, she dedicated herself to her husband, soulmate, and best friend Joe, her two beautiful daughters Natacha and Melissa, and her loving grandchildren Dawson and Maria. Diane was a one of a kind woman who put her family first, loved the people in her life honestly, and lived with honour, integrity, and an unmatched strength of spirit.
To our family, she was 'Queenie'. Often used in a tongue and cheek tone, her nickname truly articulated what her soul represented to us. She was our Queen, our spiritual pillar, our leader in love, in faith, in loyalty and devotion to family, in strength of character, and she always held an unwavering belief in God's love and the promise of the ever after. She always knew that one day we would all be together again and that she would be greeted at the gates of Heaven by her late mother Bernadette, her father Armand, her sister Jeannie, her dog Betty, and all who left this world before her. She epitomized the passage 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart' (~Proverbs 3:5~).
An excellent cook, Diane loved to feed people, and set the bar for what a great meal ought to be. Her passion for cooking also meant that she was always happy to provide culinary guidance anytime someone needed it. Most of all, Diane's heart was full of love. She had a way of lighting up a room with her smile, had a wonderful sense of humour, and truly enjoyed a good laugh like no other. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all, and will leave an incredibly large hole in our hearts and minds.
Diane will be deeply missed by her love, husband of over 43 years Joe Frade, her 2 devoted daughters Natacha Frade (Jeremy Galda), Melissa Frade, her special grandchildren Dawson Breen (Chloe Panko), and Maria MacFarlane. Diane is also survived by sister Susan Brook (Charlie), her brother Claude Gauthier (Nicole), and sister Helen Porteous (David) of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Olivia Douglas and Linda Sanche (Noel), her brother-in-law Bob Frade (Samantha), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and life-long friends. She also leaves behind her very close friend that was like her sister, Suzie Jargiello.
Diane is preceded in death by her father Armand Gauthier, her mother Bernadette Gauthier (nee Legault), her sister Jeannie Perrier and her brother-in-law Wayne Perrier of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Diane was also preceded in death by her father and mother in law Joe and Maria Frade of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
