He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter James Hayes and Vera Hayes (Ede); and his daughter Janice Cook of Kirkland Lake. He is survived by: his son Bruce Hayes of Kirkland Lake; his siblings, Ed Hayes of Courtney, BC, Glenn Hayes of Englehart and Joan Palmateer (Bill) of Englehart; and his grandchildren, Dawson and Amber Cook of Kirkland Lake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
