He was predeceased by: his wife Marianne Aidelbaum; and his parents, Carrie Aidelbaum and Saul Aidelbaum. He is survived by: his sons, Stephen and Martin; his daughters-in-law, Tanis and Barbara; and his grandchildren, Robert, Shannon, Samuel, David, Katrina and Eytan (Patricia Hurst).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Abe's memory can be made to a student bursary set up at Northern College, Kirkland Lake Campus in honour of the years that Abe served as a member of the Board of Governors (1975-1981) and as Chairman of the Board (1978-1979).
