He was predeceased by: his sister Cheryl Wolff (Jurgen). He is survived by: his wife Rachel Idlout-Smith; his children, Wendi Kohler (Sean), W. Eric Smith (Susan), William Smith, Timmuti Idlout-Smith (Natasha), Dennis Idlout (Karlye), Solomon Idlout (Leah), Kathy Idlout, Chris Dederick (Lisa) and Eugene Dederick; his brother David Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Graham Wolff (Dee) and Liese Wolff (Jason).
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Faith Tabernacle Church (6 Albert St, Coboconk, ON K0M1K0).
