She was predeceased by: her parents, Ferdinand Ristau and Martha Ristau (Schmidt); and her brothers, Walter and Reinhold. She is survived by: her husband Albert Strysio; her daughters, Ruth Stewart (John) and Rita Strysio (Mike McLeod); her granddaughter Michaela Stewart; her nephews, Gerhard and Ricky; and her niece Sylvia.
