He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Thiessen and Johanna Thiessen; his wife Betty; his son Eddy W. Thiessen; and his siblings, Peter, Ruth and Rudy.
He is survived by: his sister Karin Lepp; his daughters, Linda Thiessen and Heidi Bennett (Peter); and his grandchildren, Rachel (Jonathan), Amy (Tim) and Lauren (Braeden).
