She was predeceased by: her parents, William Simpson and Jessie Simpson (Knowles); her brother Gordon; and her niece Daphne. She is survived by: her niece Nora Learoyd; and her great-nephews, Richard Smith of Calgary, Cameron Smith of Calgary and Daniel Smith of Calgary.

“Dear Nora and family, Val and I and our family (Ellen and Kirsten) would like to express our deep sadness on hearing this news. Nancy was one of my mother Pem's dearest and lifelong friends. They shared many adventures going back to their university days in Phys-Ed at U of T and their sorority, the Alpha Gamma Deltas along with numerous camping and sailing trips, and parties with songs, skits, and the obligatory "attitude adjustment". We are honoured to have known her.”
