John Vernon Gentles Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Vernon Gentles in Kingston, Ontario, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 24, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Ann "Betty"; his daughter Cynthia; his parents, Arthur Gentles and Laura Gentles of Halifax; his in-laws, William and Mary Holman; his siblings, Florence Gentles Beverly Gaskin, Betty-Lou Tremblay, Laurie Gentles and Leonard Gentles; and also William "Bill" Holman (Norma) of Bridgewater.
He is survived by: his children, Joyce Robbins (late Jeff) of Toronto and Tim of Belleville, Ontario.; his siblings, Don Gentles (late Eva) of Halifax, Ron Gentles (late Karen) of Halifax, Gloria Dempsey (late David) of Halifax and Paulette Goulden (Lowell) of Halifax; his grandson John Robbins; and his great grandchildren, Aurora, Lyle and Wil of St. Thomas, Ontario.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Sunnybrook Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
