It is with tremendous sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Harvey Joseph Eves, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the age of 95.Predeceased by his parents Floyd and May Eves and his brother Kevin (Joyce) Devoted husband and best friend of 71 years to his sweetheart, Shirley (Ryce). Treasured Father to Stephen, Brian (Modesun), Karen (Kent), Cindy, and Anne (Rick). Cherished Grandad to Alyssa (Matthew) Jessica (Chad), Chantal (Dylan), Daniel, Adam, Ethan, Jordan, Zack (Trish), Kyle (Sky), Jeff (Kim), Bailey (Ben), Ross (Katrina), Carly, Matlin (Dave) and Ty. Very proud Great Grandad to Julia, Evan, Ava, Collins, Vida, Theo, Myla, Addison, Lincoln, Charlie, Grace, Riley, Nolan, Isla, Banks and soon to be baby Kilpatrick.
A man of few words, Harvey, retired after 38 years as a Chemist from DuPont Canada. Dad was a master gardener, avid reader and an expert with puzzles and Lego. A talented woodworker who loved building tables and planters for his family. Dad/Grandad, we will look for you in the garden flowers and think of you while enjoying a quiet moment in your favourite corner at Starbucks. Dad left this earth surrounded by the family he loved and for one hospital week lovingly cared for by two of his granddaughters, Jordan and Carly. Kingsbridge was our parents home for the past year. We are grateful for the care and compassion they received from staff. We will love and miss you forever Dad. 95 years doesn't feel like nearly enough. Your devotion to Mom and to the family will forever be admired and emulated. Thank you for everything you did for us. We will see you at the Starbucks in heaven one day.
In the words of Dad, "Holy Dinah.". What a legacy! Private arrangements have been made. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St Mary's Cathedral Veronica's Veil Overnight Shelter for Men. Dad always felt compassion for people he saw in need.
