He was predeceased by: his wife Jessie Helm; his parents, Chambers Helm and Verna Helm; and his siblings, Eunice Hewitt (Wib) of Lucknow and Glenn Helm (Pat) of Owen Sound.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Helm (Joan) of Burlington, Kay Fitzpatrick (Steve) of Kitchener, Barb Reid (Tom) of Hanover, Shirley Prosser (Dennis) of Peterborough, Kevin Helm (Jolene Innes) of Mitchell and Randy Helm (Kim) of Waterloo; and his pet TVs. He is also survived by extended family, neighbours and friends.
