She was predeceased by: her husband Alexander "Sandy" MacCharles; her parents, Kate Bowers and Shirl Bowers; her daughter Laurie MacCharles; her grandson Scott Donaldson; her siblings, Annie Culbert (Watt), Hetty McLeod (George) and Jack Bowers (Betty); and her parents-in-law, Marie Darrah, Isabel Gaunt, Sadie Knott, John MacCharles, Jessie Avery, Donalda Slater, Rod MacCharles and Margaret Taylor.

She is survived by: her children, Pat Downing (Paul) and Mary Donaldson (Steve); her grandchildren, Meaghan Higgins (Jason), Cory Downing, Curt Donaldson (Janine) and Mike Donaldson (Carley); and her great grandchildren, Ethan, Bain, Kale, Reid Higgins, Paige, Brandt, Blake and Myer Donaldson. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
