He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Flikweert; his son Ray Smidts (Wendy) of Stratford; and his parents, Klaas Smidts and Lybet. He is survived by: his sons, Nick Smidts (Marie) of Woodstock, John Smidts (Karen) of Stratford and Jack Smidts (Marge) of Canfield.
