In loving memory of Betty Jean Finlay (Kincardine, Ontario), who departed this world on April 29, 2024 at the age of 86. Betty Jean leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert Sheane and Mary Sheane (MacKenzie); her brothers, Carle Sheane (Yvonne) and Weir Sheane (Evelyn); her parents-in-law, Calvert and Sadie Finlay (Colling); and her brother Carl Finlay (Dale).
She is survived by: her husband Dr. Ronald; her children, Shane (Laurie) of Guelph, ON, Elizabeth Ann (Makitak Finlay) and Rod Finlay (Krista) of Toronto, ON; her grandchildren, Tara Monteiro (Helder), Ian Finlay (Emma), Dani Reimer (Vernon McDonald), Aaron Reimer, Justin Reimer (Elisha), Taylor Finlay and Alex Finlay; her great grandchildren, Rylee Monteiro and Elanor Reimer; and her sister-in-law June Shoemaker (Frank) of Gabriola Island, BC. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
During COVID, she made over 300 phone calls to the people in her address book (some of whom she hadn't talked to in years) to brighten their days and bring a smile to their faces.
As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, Hospice Wellington, or the charity of your choice.
