He was predeceased by: his spouse Gwen Brooks; his parents, Lambert and Mable; his siblings, Bill, Jack, Irene and Marion; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Foster, Betty Brooks and Eva Foster.

He is survived by: his children, Rod (Heather), Brad (Shirley) and Jeff (Linda); his grandchildren, Andrew (Briana), Cassandra (Brandon) and Ian (Kaylin); his great grandchild Nolan Brooks; his sibling Betty Cowan (Harlon); and his sibling-in-law Jean Brooks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
