“Len and I would talk Grampa Anderson into letting us use his Winchester 22 to hunt squirrels. We had great fun skinning and stretching their hides and selling them to S.I.R. for $0.25. 25 cents would buy a box of "Whiz Bang" 22 caliber shorts!! I remember Aunt Hildur scolding Len for not washing his hands after skinning squirrels. What fun we had!! Sending love, thoughts and prayers. Bert & Joan”

“I have fond memories of my 3 years in Laclu living with Aunt Hildur and Uncle Fred having many adventures with Jim & Len. We nicknamed Len "Wimpy" after the Popeye character. We loved to trap minnows and almost sunk the Leaky boat while rowing home (with Aunt Norma on board). We were taking on water and had Aunt Norma screaming at us that "we are all going to drown" but Len wouldn't empty the bailing can as it was filled with our haul of minnows!!
