He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Kirkness and Wasyly Romaniuk; his grandparents, Fred and Olive Kirkness; his siblings, Fred Kirkness, Sydney Kirkness, Rose Kirkness, Wanda Grandbois and Louise; his brother-in-law Don Fairfield; his niece Shannon; his father-in-law Albert Vanasse (Babe); and his brother-in-law James Vanasse (Bimbo).

He is survived by: his significant other Tina Marie; his daughter Cory; his son-in-law Des Turcotte; his grandchildren, Kenzie (Bear) and Ally (Oopie); his mother-in-law Joyce Harasemchuk (Roberta); his brother Clarence Kirkness (Nancy); his siblings-in-law, Sharon Kirkness and Gilbert Grandbois (Sheila); his siblings, Toot, Gary Bowman, Mark Vanasse (Lori), Angie Plante (Wade), Don and Deb Vanasse; his foster children, Jem, Gary and Shanna; his friend Joanne; and also Bimbo.
