He was predeceased by: his parents, James Simmons and Mabel Simmons; his brother Murray; his wife Dorothy; his daughter Darlene; and his granddaughter Diana.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary (McNeely); his children, Grant and Nancy; and his granddaughters, Jennifer and Joanna. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations would greatly be appreciated in Doug's memory to the Knox United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.
