He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill LeCain and Joan LeCain; and his grandparents, Harry LeCain, Lena LeCain, Wes Reid and Laura Reid.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Vergunst, Jen Carlson (Chris) and Chelsea Socholotuk (Trevor); his grandchildren, Charlie Socholotuk, Maggie Socholotuk, Beth Socholotuk, Carlson Socholotuk, Hadley Socholotuk and Gavin Socholotuk; his sister Deb Coulis; his nieces and nephews, Ryan (Deb), Tyler (Kolee) and Jacquie (Caleb); and his significant other Mary Mamakeesic.
