It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gwendolyn Ruth Drew (Kawartha Lakes, Ontario), born in Oshawa, Ontario, who passed away on September 25, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her brother Ted. She is survived by: her husband Wayland Miller Drew; her children, Scott (Sarah), Marda (Bill), Paula and Cindy (Wendell); her grandchildren, Graeme, Lauryn (TJ), Helen (Michael), Ben, Arthur (Destiny) and Richard; her great grandchildren, Oliver and Hudson; her son-in-law Ross; her grandchildren-in-law, David (Lisa), Tricia (Craig) and Jenna; her sister-in-law Marian; her niece Lesley (Yaan); and also, Liev, Bella and Sam.
A published photographer (Brown's Weir, 1983) and coauthor of A Taste of Muskoka (1986), Gwen humbly took in stride her many accomplishments and contributions to the communities she called home (e.g., Bracebridge Historical Society and Couchiching Conservancy) but was happiest when surrounded by people.
