He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne Grills; his son Mark Grills; his parents, Roy Grills and Marion Grills; and his sister Marlene.

He is survived by: his children, Connie Berry (late John) and Leigh Grills (Melissa); his grandchildren, Amanda (Matt), Matthew (Justine), Andrew (Becky), Skylar and Sawyer; and his siblings, Bruce (Elaine) and Carolyn Kennedy (Paul). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

If desired, a memorial donation to Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham would be appreciated by the family.
