He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Diann; his children, Jason (Virginia) of Ottawa and Tania Friesen (Corey) of Winnipeg; his granddaughters, Courtney Friesen and Jenevieve Friesen of Winnipeg; his mother Gladys Gillissie of Kapuskasing; his siblings, Doug Gillissie, Brian Gillissie (Hélène), Kevin Gillissie (Diane) of Kapuskasing and Valerie Gillissie-Silas (Marc) of Dalhousie; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Robineau (Karen) of Kapuskasing and Lynne Tancredi (John) of Pembroke. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sensenbrenner Hospital CT Scan Fund would be greatly appreciated.
