Catherine Coulter wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Margaret, Matthew and Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the opportunity to get to know Jim on the Royal Ottawa Hospital Board, and then worked closely with him on the Governance Committee. Jim was one of those people that I always sat up and paid attention to when he spoke - he was incredibly wise and insightful. But of course in the things that really matter, he excelled. When I think of Jim, the words "prince of man" fit naturally. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.”

Pari Johnston wrote a sympathy message

“Hello Margaret and all of Jim’s family. I was on the Royal’s Board with Jim and we co-chaired the CEO Search Ctte together this last year. In the almost 2 years I knew him on the Royal’s Board, he came to mean so much to me. He was one of the most decent, kind, wise, wry, strategic & consensus-building people I’ve met. I want to share my deepest condolences at the loss of such a good man who brought out the best in people. Thank you, Jim, for showing me how to be a good community builder.”
