Margaret (Cooney) Mulligan Obituary
Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Daughter of the late Fred and Della Cooney. Beloved wife of the late John Mulligan. The most caring mother of Ed (Dayle), Marilyn Gervais (Ron), and Colleen Weir (John). Proud grandmother of Jonathan, Brendan, Branden, Matthew (Elly), Cameron (Kassandra), Emma, and Madison. Survived by her sister Mary (Ray) and predeceased by her siblings; Harry (Lorna), Angela (Roger), Maudella, Charlie (Catherine), Ferdie (Edna), Earl (Velma), Coreen (Jim), and Phillip (surviving Diane).
Margaret worked as a press operator with the federal government for 31 years. Margaret enjoyed travel, camping, golf, cross country skiing, a great fiddle tune, attending her grandchildren's dance competitions and hockey games, and most of all packing her cooler with a few pints and heading out on road trips in the Pontiac with her family. She hosted family gatherings and loved spending time with her children and grandkids. Margaret was a strong, dedicated, caring, loving, loyal and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Family and friends may pay respects at Kelly Funeral Home – Kanata Chapel, 580 Eagleson Road, Kanata, Ont. K2M 1H4, 613-591-6580 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm, on Thursday, October 26, 2023. A Mass of Christian. Funeral will be celebrated at St. Mary's Parish (5 John Street, Quyon, QC) on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:00am. Interment to St. Mary's Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations to The Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
