Kim Wicker Obituary
Surrounded by her family and close friends, just days after her 62nd birthday, Kim passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her mother Margaret Moran, Kim will be greatly missed by her partner Deborah Ward, stepdaughter Serina Ward, her father Charles Wicker (Linda), sisters Kathy McKee and Carol McDivitt (Brian), along with many nieces and nephews that just adored her. She had so many wonderful friends including her life-long friend Karen (Woody) Wood.
Born in Ottawa, Kim grew up in the Bells Corners and lived in the west end of Ottawa her entire life. Kim worked for the Federal Government for 32 years before retiring from the Canada Revenue Agency in January 2022. Kim was passionate about sports, as a player and a fan. She played hockey and fast-pitch softball competitively on many teams. Kim also enjoyed attending Toronto Blue Jays games with family and friends, as well as ardently supporting her beloved Boston Bruins and Red Sox. Since her retirement, Kim had the time to indulge in her love of golf and played regularly for a women's league as well as with many tournaments for charity. These charities included Freedom Dog Rescue; a charity close to Kim's heart. As a dog lover and dog owner for many years, she was an avid supporter.
