With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Erik Edward Gjos of Kanata, Ontario, who passed away on November 24, 2024 at the age of 64. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Erik Edward Gjos to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Stan Gjos and Elizabeth "Betty" Gjos; his brother Paul; and his father-in-law Ronald. He is survived by: his brother Stephen (Lori); his daughters, Katherine and Emily (Andre); his pets, Gordon and Scotia; his in-laws, Sandra, Charlie (Pamela), Margaret and Joan-Marie; his nieces and nephews, Alysha (Vic), Meagan, Brad (Alannah) of Jordan and AJ; and his great-niece Penelope. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Kelly Funeral Home - Kanata Chapel (580 Eagleson Rd, Kanata, ON K2M1H4).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bruyere Health Saint-Vincent Hospital.

“Erik was one of my lieutenants when I took command of the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise's) and rotated it to West Germany in 1987, serving as a troop leader in the Brigade Reconnaissance Squadron. We only served together one year, but I ran into him several times later on when he was serving in the Intelligence Branch. He was a very good officer, and always impressed me with his calm, professional approach to our work and to life in general. Our thoughts are with his family.”
