Athanasia Sofia Kioulos Obituary
It is with great sadness that we must announce the sudden passing of our beloved Athina at the young age of 29.
Athina leaves behind the lights of her life: her fiancé and life partner Connor Davis and their precious son William “Liam” Davis.
She was embraced and loved by Connor’s parents Heather and Bruce, and brother Kyle Davis. She will be missed by Diane and Mike Stevens, Marilyn Davis, Connor’s grandparents, Uncle Mike and Yvonne Stevens, and Aunt Vicki Davis. She will also be missed by her loving cousins Wallis and Mike, and Taylor and Rob. There is a special place in their hearts where they will keep her precious memories alive.
The only child of Sophie and Bob Kioulos, Athina has filled their lives and hearts with so many wonderful memories of her quirky, sensitive, hard-loving, funny personality and incredibly unique colourful style.
Loving grandchild of her doting grandparents, Yiayia Toula and Papou Thanasi (dec.) Kioulos, and Yiayia Basy and Papou Frankie Kanellakos. She adored her aunts and uncles: Steve and Karon Kanellakos, Maria and John Hatzopoulos, Gina and George Georgaras, and Kosta and Antonia Kioulos.
Loving cousin to: Chris Georgaras, Vasi Jackson (Alex), Alexa Hatzopoulos, Frank Kanellakos, Nikki Kanellakos, Vasi Hatzopoulos, Michael Kanellakos, Thanasi Kioulos, Panayiota Kioulos, Aryana Kioulos, Chantal Glandon and niece Emma Georgaras.
It takes a village to raise a child and Athina had an incredible amount of love and support from her family and friends throughout her life. Thank you to our family and friends for being a part of her journey. We are grateful to have had you bless her life and to have had Athina bless ours.
Due to current circumstances, we will be holding a small private funeral service at Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church on Friday, April 16th. Donations in her honor would be much appreciated to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation and the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church.
Rest peacefully our sweet girl. You are sorely missed and will forever be in our hearts.
