He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Matlachowski and Erna Matlachowski; his siblings, Rienhard and Brigitte; and his parents-in-law, Nancy and Lyle Rutley.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen and Joanna Matt (Wade Steele); his grandsons, Brendan Melesky (Ashley), Ryan (Kyle Melesky) and Megane (Angelie Steele); his wife Cheryl Matt (Rutley) of Long Sault, ON.; his sister Anne; his niece Hannah Kilby (Sheldon); his nephew Dale Kilby (Yvonne); his siblings-in-law, Linda Helliwell (Douglas), Hughena Hart (William), Sara Rutley-Fawcett Richmond (Brian) and Steven Rutley (Sherry); and his cousin Dagmar Minns. He is also survived by her sons, Kingston ON; also several nieces, nephews and German cousins.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a Memorial Tribute the family requests they be made to Hospice (Cornwall) or the Canadian Cancer Society (Prostate Research).
