He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Stephenson and Elizabeth Stephenson; and his sister Joan Dykes. He is survived by: his spouse Marion Stephenson; his sons, James Mark Stephenson (Islay) of St. Andrew's West and Robert Scott Stephenson of Ingleside; his grandchildren, Justin Stephenson (Crystal) and Courtney Stephenson (Tanya); and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Brayden, Payton and Colton.
