He was predeceased by: his daughter Evelyn Looyen; and his brother Gerrit (Bep). He is survived by: his spouse Willempje (Willy); his children, Janet Douma (Abe), Bert Looyen (Cindy) and Henry Looyen; his siblings, Jan Willem (Maartje), Cor, Arnold (Henny), Wim (Astrid) and Willy (Ruth VandeBerg); his siblings-in-law, Wendy, Co DeRooy, Mina, Ben Kroeze, Grace VanDeGlind and Jan VandeHee; and his grandchildren, Andrew Douma (Heather), Randy Douma (Shannon), Angela Ball (Adam), Melissa Murphy (Jesse), Brad Looyen (Rikki), Cory Looyen (Strauna), Cody Looyen, Derek Looyen, Darian Looyen and Chloe Looyen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
