He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Froats and Doris Froats (VanAllen); and his brother Glen Froats (late Carol). He is survived by: his wife Wendy; his sons, Travis (Esther) and Troy (Katie); his granddaughters, Emerson and Aubrey Froats; his brother Wayne (Vivienne); his stepfather-in-law Carl Peever (late Eva); and his siblings-in-law, Earl Markell (Lois), Sheila McKenzie (late Don), Gail MacLeod (Iain), Henriette Markell (late Gordon), George Otto (late Carol), Donna Cottrell (late Bob), Larry Markell (Janet), Cindy Waldroff (Kevin) and Allen Markell.
Cremation has taken place and due to Covid19 a celebration of Derle's life will take place at a later date.
Donations in his name can be made to St. Matthew's Presbyterian Church in Ingleside or Prostrate Cancer.
