He is survived by: his wife Bernadette; his children, Marilyn (Dave), Michelle and Thomas (Alexis); his stepchildren, Caroline (Kevin) and Ron; his grandchildren, Calvin, Andrea, Olivia, Stephanie and Logan; and his sisters, Evelyn, Roberta, Shirly and Pauline.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Irwin's name may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
