He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hares and Madeline Hares; his siblings, Mary McKee (Ross) and Bert Hares (Marilyn); and his nephew David Hares.
He is survived by: his wife Janice; his daughter Jodi (Rick Madden); and his pets, Zoe, Sylvester and Mavrick. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
