He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Long; his parents, Gordon Long and Della Long; his siblings, Jack Long, Delbert Long, Wallace Long, Robert Long, Beverly Long, Ronald Long, Dorothy Aitken and Mona Bell; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Long, Marion Long, Thelma Bramhill, David Aitken, Arthur Bell and Ivan Bramhill.

He is survived by: his daughter Sheri (Bruce Maxted); his grandchildren, Heather Maxted (Simon Ruiz) and Scott Maxted (Adrianne Hopwood); his great grandchild Rosalind Ruiz; his siblings, Laverne Long, Thelma Vanner, Paul, Carol Long and Carl Long; and his sister-in-law Miriam Long. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
