He was predeceased by: his siblings, Clarence Mertz (late Grace), Ralph Mertz and Arden Mertz. He is survived by: his spouse Lorna Mertz; his sibling Gwen Woods (Ed); his siblings-in-law, Grace, Betty, John Shewfelt (Marilyn), Gord Shewfelt (Paula) and Velma Shewfelt; and his significant other Simon. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and great nieces.
