She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Kieffer and Anna Marie Kieffer (Corrigan); her siblings, Bill, Roger and Corinne Black; and her siblings-in-law, Joan Kieffer, Darleen Thedorff, Lorne Shupe, Ralph Weishar and Paul Munn.

She is survived by: her husband Peter Groot; her children, Jennifer, Eric and Ryan; her grandchildren, Molly, Henry and Hazel; and her siblings, Marjorie Shupe, Georgina (Reinhardt Schreiter), Linda Kieffer, Michael Black, Ron Kieffer, Karen Weishar, John (Elze Groot), Marianne (Glenn Warwick), David (Shari Groot), Margaret Munn, Pat Groot, Elizabeth Groot, Chris (Rhonda Groot), Jeannie Groot, Joey (Patty Groot) and Jerry (Julie Groot). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
