He was predeceased by: his wife Lillian; his parents, Howard and Kitty (Stead); and his siblings, Fred, Elsie (Preece) and Nora (Hamilton).

He is survived by: his children, Donald (Ginette), Burton (Hilde), Laird (Paula), Leanne (John) and Liz (Scott); his grandchildren, Ian (Emily), Amy (Matt), Heather (Andrew), Carly, Shannon, Griffin, Amanda and Angela (Jason); his great grandchildren, Olivier, Benjamin, Peyton, Ethan, Logan, Trinity, Luc (Mackenzie), Fallon, Mason and Candice; and his great great grandchild Benson. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
