He is survived by: his aunt Angela (Coid); his uncle George McWhirter of Vancouver, BC; his cousins, Grania Bridal, Liam McWhirter, Wanda Grzegorczyk and Mark Grzegorczyk; and his nephews, Rob and Jeff Denike.
Karl was a fun-loving optimist, keen student of history and avid traveler whose fondest hope was that he and Janice could make up for time lost to the pandemic with many more adventures, including frequent trips "home" to Ireland and England where his roots and friendships were deep.
