He was predeceased by: his spouse Evelyn; and his child Catherine Cooney. He is survived by: his child Les Cooney of Peterborough; his child-in-law Cameron Cooney of Havelock; his grandchild Raymond Cooney; his great grandchild Autumn Cooney; and his siblings, Ken (Sheelagh), Della Carrol (Al), Ted (Judith) and Gloria Bailey (Lenny). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
