She was predeceased by: her spouse Robert Aikenhead; and her daughter Sheena McCarten. She is survived by: her sister Flora Reid of Scotland; her children, Fiona Ballantyne, Mairi Beaven (Philip) and Andrea Nelson (late Jim Nelson); and her grandchildren, Cameron Ballantyne, Elliott Ballantyne, Neal McCarten (Vanessa), Kate McCarten, Courtney Levesque (Jeff), Lyndsey Aalbers, Christine Beaulieu (Billy), James Nelson (Charlotte), Jennifer Nelson (Alex) and Robert Nelson (Amelia).
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Wooler United Church on March 16, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wooler United Church, or Hastings Manor, Home for the Aged would be appreciated by the family.
