It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Robert Matthews in Hastings, Ontario, who passed away on July 26, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Garfield Matthews and Hilda Matthews (Adams); and his sister June Wardhaugh. He is survived by: his spouse Dicia Matthews (Ellis); his children, Kelly Nishimura (Wayne) of Burlington, Rob Matthews (Angie) of Foxboro and Rick Matthews of Belleville; his grandchildren, Dawna Wade (Brandon), John, Matthew, Adam, Owen and Shea; his great grandchildren, Riley, Jorja and Clayton; his sister Marilyn Matthews-Rollins; his parent-in-law Dicia Ellis (late Howard); and his siblings-in-law, Kim and Ernie Finkle.
